Willow (The aluminum roof flashing version)

An image I posted some weeks ago on the blog, this time as an alcohol/gel inkjet transfer onto aluminum roof flashing. I purposely used too much of the alcohol/gel mixture to get all those imperfections and textures in the image. The swirly edges were created by working my finger around the edges of the image during the transfer process.

  1. I like the look of the technique. Perhaps its the alu.plate but it has something of a wetplate,
but it has a beauty on his own.
    Very nice!

  2. Wow, that is amazing! The swirly edges and "imperfections" are wonderful. I can only imagine how fantastic this looks in person. And I agree with Gerda, it resembles wet plate to me too.

  3. Thanks Gerda and Jacki. Whenever I look at a wet plate image, it's always the unique imperfections of that technique that I enjoy so much.
I am really trying to emulate those imperfections in this process.

    1. Thanks Mr Al. I think it's worth that extra money to buy the special Zone System aluminum roof flashing.

  7. Aluminum roofing is not only one of the least expensive types of roofing material available today, but it also provides many benefits. Aluminum has been found to reflect heat.
